Apple Hill Trip Recap

Last year in early November Zek and I took a trip to Sacramento to visit the Flint Grandparents. Robert had arranged to do a Mt Biking trip weekend as an early birthday activity. So he had a guy weekend while Zek and I headed to the Hill!

Going to Apple Hill is probably one of my most favorite childhood and even adult memories. It has the best Apple Orchards and Ranches that I have ever been too. And we always know where to get the best baked apple desserts. It also makes for the most beautiful drive through the hills and trees.

Cake Smash After Party Recap

We are trying to quickly catch up with current events! So after Zek's birthday, Natalie was really excited to still make Zek his first birthday cake! (minus the cupcake favor he stole off the counter the day before his birthday party)

Natalie made a regular white cake from scratch and several batches of colorful frosting. The kitchen was a huge mess when she was done, that the smash looked like it had already happened.

Zek's ONE YEAR Birthday Party

For Zek's first birthday we had a pancake breakfast and it was excellent! Zek may not remember it but everyone sure loved their yummy pancakes and eggs. It was definitely a labor of love as Zek's grandparents cooked up all the yummy food for everyone to eat. It was a big production and I am incredibly thankful to all who helped and provided resources to make it happen.

For Zek's birthday "cake" he had a short stack of pancakes with a powder sugar glaze, whip cream and rainbow sprinkles. Besides the food being a hit among the adults. We had a ball pit filled with balls and balloons that Natalie found off of craigslist.

For the first hair cut we decided to have it done at a kids haircut salon called SnipIts in El Segundo. Zek did pretty good sitting in the chair and being patient. This haircut at the time seemed like such a big deal! Much like a milestone. Looking back at the pictures I think I still liked his hair in the before picture too. ha ha ha

Thanksgiving Recap

It's been so long since we posted anything. Life just is flying by it seems. For Thanksgiving this year we spent time at Robert's parents house in Santa Clarita. Zek was 11 months old and we had a great time together. We dressed Zek up in a tie which he didn't wear for too long but it was still fun to try out.
