Big Bear

This year we had our second annual college friend family vacation up in Big Bear. We stayed in a 5000 sq. foot cabin situated on Lagunita Lane in Big Bear Lake. It had 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. There was a nice view of the lake and plenty of space for 8 adults and 5 kids to run around. We enjoyed the crisp mountain air and just being together relaxing.

Happy 15 Months Jonathan!

On October 29th Jonathan turned 15 months old. At 15 months old...

He can say almost any word. You name it he can say it.
He LOVES being outside and playing.
He can kick a soccer ball pretty well.
He can go down the slide on his own.
He is happy and energetic and loves to laugh.
He loves his blanket and his "paci" especially for his naps and car rides.
He likes balls a lot and toy cars just like his brother.
He loves sweeping the floor and throwing away trash.
He likes to try jumping but he doesn't make it off the ground.
He gets messy during meal times and tends to chuck food and dinnerware across the room.
He loves to sneak into the toilet and play in the water.
He likes to shut himself in a room and then decides he doesn't like it.
He likes to stomp the ground like he is smashing ants.
He has already been to the ER once.
He can grow back a toe.
He likes reading books especially Old McDonald and Brown Bear Brown Bear
He likes to wrestle when Zeke and Daddy are wrestling.
He says down when he means up (when he wants to be held).
He naps about 1 to 2 times a day.
He LOVES to brush his own teeth.

His recent well baby appointment revealed that he is...

86.4th Percentile for Head

Happy Harvest

We had some fun dressing up for the Fall Harvest Festival at our church. The kids played fun activities and got to see a production about the Good Shepherd and His sheep. Zeke and Jonathan's Auntie Kristen came out to visit and dressed up with us. Lots of fun to spend time together.

Ice Cream

We have had some pretty warm days in Southern California this year so it's nice to let the kids get as sticky as they want with some refreshing ice cream. I gave the boys ice cream cones. Zeke had mint chip and Jonathan had Pecan Praline. I loved capturing this on camera.

Apple Hill 2015

This year we got a chance to head up to Apple Hill in Placerville which is one of my favorite places to visit. It's beautiful, refreshing and everything pertaining to Fall lies in this place. From the colors, to the smells, to the views, to the tastes. This place is a must see if you ever are in Northern California. When we go we make sure to hit a few of our favorite spots.

Rainbow Orchards
Home of the Hot Apple Cider Donut. I'm sorry you LA donut lovers, you haven't tasted a real donut until you have tasted this. It's made when you order and given to you warm. They have an entire barn filled with awesome produce and I really loved tasting the Arkansas Black Apples, great texture, meatiness, sweetness and beautiful color. Make this your first stop in the morning before hitting up the rest of Apple Hill, they open at 9am. Perfect place to start your morning.

In the second picture while my dad was holding Jonathan he grabbed an apple out of the presorted bins for sale and took a bite out of it. We ended up buying that apple. So funny. He held onto it for a good majority of the morning munching away.

Zeke couldn't wait to get his hands on one of these. In the third picture below Zeke isn't looking but Jonathan is about to steal his donut.

Did I mention the beautiful grounds? It's so nice to be in a place that's just filled with vitality. Things are fresh, crisp, colorful. People are nice, industrious and know the value of hard work and patience. It's on my bucket list to own my own orchard one day. I want my hands and feet in the dirt and I want to see the sunrise on my own land. And I want to share with my family the legacy and the rich blessing that God gives through something so simple.

Over the weekend the weather dropped about 20 degrees in one evening and we had an amazing downpour of rain. I just love it when it rains. Some of us were prepared and some were not:)

We ended the weekend with some pumpkin carving.

A One Year Old and a Preschooler

Today we are reflecting on two major events, Jonathan turning one year old on July 29th and Zeke starting preschool today on Sep 15th. These are both huge milestones for them and us as parents. Just making it to one year with a child is a huge accomplishment as well as potty training your three year old and preparing him for school. It's exciting and overwhelmingly precious. We will never get back the year and years past but those will be times we cherish and we are thankful everyday for the life that God has entrusted to us.

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY JONATHAN
